This package is being developed for active Residential, Journeyworker, and Master plumbers who need annual renewal CE. Check your license class, status, and personal renewal or reinstatement history before choosing hours. If you hold more than one plumbing license, the rule directs you to meet the requirements for the most advanced license held.
Rule 1.4(E)(3)(d)(1) starts the annual requirement after the first renewal or reinstatement. DORA also describes an exception for people licensed by examination during their initial license period. Do not assume a full year of CE is due just because you have a new license. Ask DORA to confirm how the exception applies to your record. Inactive license renewal has different requirements, and inactive status does not allow you to practice.
This is renewal CE for licensed plumbers. It is not apprentice registration, on-the-job training, or a licensing exam preparation course. Water conditioning installers and principals are excluded from this CE provision. If your goal is your first license, see our separate exam-prep plans or contact ReadyCE before choosing a course.

Colorado requires eight CE hours for each applicable year after the first renewal or reinstatement. The regular annual window we are developing this package for is March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027. Credits apply to their own twelve-month period. This package is not a way to make up or bank hours for other years.
The current regular license cycle ends February 28, 2027. DORA announced a change to three-year renewals starting March 1, 2027; that does not turn an annual 8-hour package into coverage for the whole cycle. Check your DORA record for your own expiration date and any earlier obligations.
The current rule requires at least four code hours and allows no more than two safety hours within each twenty-four-month period. Those are not annual minimums. Our proposed annual package includes four code hours and no safety-only hours. Each course will identify one core competency. Final course classification requires instructor validation.
At renewal, licensees must also attest that they have read the current Colorado Plumbing Code. The rule effective August 14, 2026 adopts specified provisions of the 2024 IPC, IRC, and IFGC with Colorado changes. Taking CE does not replace the code-reading requirement or your renewal application.
Your Board’s requirements govern. Check your own license record, especially after a first license, reinstatement, or status change.
The effective rule text and DORA bulletins were reviewed. DORA’s main CE page blocked automated access during that check; confirm individual eligibility with the Board.

Apply the adopted Colorado code to water supply and distribution. Planned topics include sizing considerations, installation details, and identifying the relevant state amendments.
Work through drainage principles and selected code requirements using practical examples. The instructor will validate the final examples and code references.
Review cross-connection risks, protection methods, and common field decisions within this core competency. This is CE, not a separate backflow tester certification.

We’re planning online courses for phones, tablets, and computers, with progress saved between sessions. Browser support, access length, and resume behavior will be tested before launch. An internet connection will be required; offline access is not promised.
Colorado requires interactive online courses that verify active participation and comprehension at least once per hour, with fast-forward disabled. Expect required checks throughout the material. Passing rules and retry terms will be published before purchase. Required learning time will not be advertised as a shortcut.
The planned course will issue a downloadable record only after all required content and checks are successfully completed. Certificate timing and retrieval will be tested before enrollment opens. The course player, saved progress, and certificate delivery are planned features, not live capabilities today.
We’re recruiting the instructor of record. No instructor has been announced. Colorado requires a provider-sponsored instructor who meets the rule’s qualifications—for example, a Colorado Master or Journeyworker license (or equivalent) plus at least five years of journeyworker field experience, or another Board-accepted qualification. The confirmed instructor’s name, background, and relevant credentials will appear here before enrollment opens.

Colorado requires you to track your completed CE and retain documentation for at least six years. Keep a copy outside any course account. If the Board requests an audit, the current rule requires the requested documentation within 30 days. The illustration is a design sample, not a certificate or valid credit.
DORA’s published guidance says not to submit CE documentation unless audited. Do not assume ReadyCE sends your certificate to the Board or renews your license for you. You remain responsible for your records, your renewal application, and responding to Board requests.
Keep these two jobs separate, and you’ll know what still needs doing.

Identify the annual hours due, check previous annual records, and check the code and safety totals across the applicable twenty-four months. This one annual package does not cover every historical obligation.
Choose a qualifying provider and complete the required courses and participation checks within your applicable annual period. ReadyCE enrollment is closed while this package is being developed.
Check the name, license number, dates, provider, instructor, and hours on your record. Save it somewhere you can retrieve it for at least six years. Read the current Colorado Plumbing Code as required.
Follow DORA’s renewal notice, complete its application and attestations, and pay the applicable renewal fee. Finishing a CE course does not renew the license. Keep documentation available if the Board asks for it.

No. Enrollment is closed, and we are not accepting deposits, preorders, or paid reservations. The course, instructor, provider requirements, delivery flow, price, and terms must be ready first. You can email us with questions; contacting us does not enroll you or reserve a seat.
Active Colorado Residential, Journeyworker, and Master plumbers with an applicable annual CE obligation. Check your license history and any exception before buying. It is not a licensing course, apprentice training, exam prep, or CE for another state or profession.
The obligation is annual. In the current regular two-year cycle, eight hours in each annual period totals sixteen, but taking sixteen in a single year does not fix a missed prior period. The move to a three-year renewal cycle beginning March 1, 2027 does not remove annual CE requirements.
The target annual period is March 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027, in Colorado’s America/Denver timezone. There is no course launch date yet. This is not a promise that ReadyCE will be available in time for your deadline. If you need credit now, consult DORA’s Attesting Provider list.
You may qualify for the first-renewal exception. The current rule describes the requirement after the first renewal or reinstatement, and DORA’s guidance addresses licenses obtained by examination. ReadyCE is not currently claiming approval or confirmed placement on the Attesting Provider list. The provider process and instructor validation are still in development. Exact status and the Board reference will be published before enrollment opens.
